Wedding Planning Tools
Make planning for a wedding easier with some very well thought-out procedures. While they may seem to be time-consuming initially, they are good time-savers along the way as they show clearly where, what and how you can cut down on unnecessary legwork and costs.
One of the must-haves at a wedding is bridal accessories. These include:
- Bridal jewelry. Mainly for the bride, these comprise her tiara, earrings, necklace, rings and bracelets. Sometimes, even a nose ring is included for a more ethnic look although this is a rare addition for the western wedding. These pieces could be family heirlooms or gifts from family members and friends. Normally, they form one part of the wedding adage "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue".
- Bridal gown. Bought or borrowed, custom made or off the rack, the bridal gown is one that requires a lot of attention as it will be the one item during the ceremony that everyone will have at least an eye on.
- Bridal veils. To wear or not to wear – that seems to be the perennial question every bride asks. For today’s contemporary weddings, bridal veils are more a decorative item than an essential part of her wardrobe. Veils can be worn traditionally draped over the face, piled atop the head or just barely shading the eyes. They can also be made of thick or sheer material, depending on the bride and gown she’s wearing.
- Bridal shoes. As petty as they may seem, bridal shoes are very important as the bride is going to be stuck in them for long periods. Choosing something that is comfortable and coordinated with what she is wearing for the day (and probably into the night) is more challenging that you think and many a bride has spent months searching for that very elusive pair.
- Wedding guest books are a nice touch. Not only will your guests have a chance to write niceties personally, you will have lots to remember by in future just by going through the pages. They can also be great items to read through at your anniversaries.
While it is undoubtedly hectic, with the proper wedding planning tools, any wedding can be arranged and executed with less hassle. wedding planning tools are an important part of any wedding planning effort. Not only do they help to get rid of the unnecessary items and thus reduce the unnecessary cost, they also keep you on the right track and on time. Nothing is worse than spending too much time on one item and ending up going over your deadline with very little else achieved.
Your wedding planning tools should consist of a:
1. To Do list. This is very important and should never leave your sight. Make copies and leave them everywhere so you will never forget what you are currently working on or the next thing you have to do. It is also useful in case you accidentally come across one of the items you need further down the list without actually looking for it.
2. Wedding Planning Calendar. More than just a series of dates to count down to, the wedding calendar will have specific time lines in there to serve as reminders for tasks to be completed by their deadline. At least four to six months before your big day, for instance, there will be a reminder for you to book your wedding venue. A month before will have a reminder for you to send out invitations while another date will mark the day when you are supposed to send out your wedding registry. Until you have sorted out your Wedding Planning Calendar, do not even attempt to start planning your wedding!
3. Budget Calculator. While you do not have to plan a wedding for the Scrooges, you do have to stick to the pre-agreed amount to spend. Not paying attention to how much you will be spending for this and that could end up with you having too little for something really important like food or wedding favors. Once you have allocated the cost, like how many percent of the total will be going to winter wedding favors, for instance, stick to it as much as possible. If you have to go over the budget, then remember to deduct the access cost from another item.
4. Guest List and Seating Plan. Confirm your guest list early because you will have to send your invitations out at least a month before because you will need to give your guests time to confirm their attendance. Seating Plans may not be necessary for buffet weddings but you will still need to make sure VIPs are appropriately seated.
